Is this what the Royals needed? I’d say YES! Great start from P-Dog tonight. Six scoreless, six strikeouts and one win. Glad to have him back. Huge improvement over Mendoza.
Gordon raised his batting average .28 points tonight with a 4 for 5 performance. Butler drove in runs, bullpen was solid. Great win. Guaranteed a split with the Yanks and a chance for a win tomorrow to take the series.
Hochevar vs. Phelps tomorrow has the makings of a 15-12 type Royals win so get your tickets and go enjoy a day at the ballpark tomorrow.

Day Game
Royals had a chance to blow this thing open in the first inning but didn’t take advantage: Betancourt doubled to start the game, Gordon walked and Butler singled. Bases were loaded w/ nobody out. Hosmer hit into a double play that allowed one run to score but then Frenchy made an out to end the inning. Frenchy came up again in the top of the third with a chance to produce (runners at 2nd and 3rd) but again grounded out to end the inning. He needs to be benched. Get some comments going boys and girls!
