THAT’S IT!!!…enough talking about SEC Football, the Donger errrr Bruce Chen, and the boners at the Power and Light…
Kansas plays against the Ohio State University on Saturday at 7:49 PM in the Big Easy. In the Final Four. In a year many thought would be Self’s worst in Lawrence.
This game will be much different from the earlier match-up in Lawrence where Kansas took down a Sullinger-less Buckeye Squad by 11 in December. Sullinger is back and playing like an All-American. Aaron Craft will try to stop Tyshawn Taylor from distributing to Thomas Robinson and Jeff Withey (who had 2 points in the first meeting). Both teams are extremely weak off the bench…Kansas will bring in Teahan for solid decision-making and streaky 3 point shooting as well as Kevin Young for energy, hustle, and rebounds/put-backs. Ohio State struggles to get anyone off the bench to play more than 10 minutes. A clear sign of lack of production.
This game, like each team’s route to the Final Four, will come down to who locks down on Defense. Both teams are in Ken Pom’s Top 5 in Defensive Efficiency and look for Self to muddy it up with different defense looks and in-game adjustments.
I think the ride ends on Saturday for Self and his ‘Hawks as they lose a close one to the Buckeyes. But never count out Self or this team of destiny!
