WASTE OF SPACE X 2!

The Colordao Rockies traded Guthrie to the KC Royals for Sanchez. You thought the rest of the league was laughing at these two teams before, I can only imagine what they are saying now. Neither pitcher should even be in the Majors let alone coveted by another team. Guthrie is such a big shit head that he gave up four runs in an inning and walked off the mound and tipped his cap to the crowd. Both have era’s above their IQ’s. Both teams should have thrown these dudes on waivers and brought somebody up from AAA or even AA  . Put me in coach, I’m ready to play.

Hey, at least this move keeps Odorizzi in the minors where he belongs. The guy is struggling in Omaha. He’s 6-1 with a 3 ERA. I’d much rather have a veteran who could rekindle his old self than have a young 22 year old stud up here. Trust in Dayton, he knows what he’s doing and he’s doing a great job keeping our minor leagues strong. It’s deals like this and signing a minor league catcher to the 40 man roster that keeps the minors strong and the MLB weak. That’s the job of an MLB GM, not winning on the MLB level. I like this move. I am blinded by faith in GMDM so…in he I trust. GO DAYTON!

Joking aside…I am not sure what Dayton is doing. I think he’s lost his mind…seriously, why would you bring this guy in and not get give OD a look? I know KC Mullet will firmly disagree and somehow tell me this was good for the club, but I think this and the fact that Wil Meyers isn’t playing RF everyday is a crime and GMDM should be punished by having his head roll. Just my thoughts…I’m sure I’m wrong.

    • We are in 100% agreement on this one LERF.

Odorizzi should be up here pitching every fifth day. If you read any of my posts I’ve said that he should have never been allowed to leave KC after the Futures Game at the beginning of the month.

Why he isn’t in KC and guys like Vedugo and Will Smith are getting starts in front of him is beyond me. Dayton might be smoking a little crack on the week nights instead of just weekends.

Myers should also be up here and I don’t care if that menas Frenchy rides the pine for nine (thanks Rex Huddler for making that part of my baseball lexicon). Frenchy SUCKS fat french balls and I’m still extremely steamed at DM for giving him the extension last year over Melky. That really fucked us more than anything else.

The only reason DM is playing Frenchy everyday is in the hopes he gets hot and can generate some trade interest. NEWSFLASH DAYTON: You aren’t going to get a team to trade you jack shit for a fourth outfielder set to make 7 million next season.

As for my defense of the Guthrie trade……the dude has been decent in years past and I think he has more upside than Sanchez. Gotta try to find some positive spin out of it or you just sound like Hawkster (a manic deppresant attitude that I’m sick of hearing from Royals fans).

Yes the cycle sucks but for the first time in about a decade the talent on the field is actually good enough for the Royals organization to look the fanbase straight in the eye and tell us we are “almost there”. As opposed to the past when they said slapping their knee and laughing all the way to the bank.

I will defend DM on most of his decisions but not regarding Odorizzi or Myers. The guy is trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit and he’s close to getting the recipe right.

Good to see LERF and KCCM cum to an agreement..

I too don’t get why Dayton isn’t playing Meyers and Odorizzi

I think Dayton has come a long way with Royals considering how rock bottom they were. I’d give him 1-2 more years and we’ll be there.

  2. Let’s look at this trade for what it really is. Two teams conceeding that the guy they currently have on the roster just needs a fresh start and maybe his career will be better because of it.

I’m not a fan of Guthrie but I think the Royals got the better end of this deal. Guthrie’s road numbers tell me the guy can at least still pitch, he just never figured it out at Coors Field (one of the most difficult parks to pitch at in all of MLB due to the elevation). And he was the opening day starter for the Rocks so obviously they had confidence in him in spring training.

Plus read his comments in this article:

    http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_21120065/rockies-trade-jeremy-guthrie-royals-jonathan-sanchez

He’s not a wet sack of shit like Sanchez who thinks he is actually pitching well.

I think the Royals pulled off a pretty decent deal in even finding someone interested in Sanchez.

Now I’m sure Rockies fans are saying the same thing; “good riddance Guthrie” and they think Sanchez will be better but only time will tell.

My money is on Guthrie rebounding to have a decent end of the season. If he gets 10 starts with the Royals I say his line ends up somewhere around:

    4-4 record, 4.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP

    • Hawkster says:

Dude, you are smoking crack. He can’t get thru 3 innings. There is no freaking way the guy pitches past the 5th in 8 out of 10 games, not to mention that the Royals go .500 for any pitcher the rest of the year. Let’s be realistic. They both suck balls and desperate times called for desperate measure. The problem with the Rockies is that they can be this shitty and 30,000 people will still show up at Coors field to get shit faced and stare at pie. Until that changes, the owners have zero reason to change jack shit. And the good folks of KC hold out hope every freaking year because of the promise of the next rising star, who is in all reality going to leave as soon as he is worth a crap. It’s a bad, fucked up cycle for what are unfortunately my two favorite baseball teams. Oh, I like the Yankees too (NOT)

Is KC Mullet Dayton Moore? Dayton Moore’s brother or cousin or something? Is it David Glass?

    • Cheeeeeeeeeese says:

Can I get some of that Northland Meth? Its doing wonders for you CurlyMullet

      • Hey now…..don’t be dissin’ on God’s Country b/c my Royals knowledge is top notch and my bathtub meth is Grade A quality shit.

I just have a different outlook than all you guys b/c I’m sick of all the Royal’s Haters out there. It’s way too easy to jump on an organization that has struggled for 20 years so I refuse to do it.

  3. Hawkster says:

Let’s not kid ourselves. They both completely freaking blow ass. At home this season, he was 1-6 with a 9.51 earned run average and allowed 14 home runs in just over 41 innings. On the road, Guthrie was 2-4 with a 3.67 ERA. For the season, he has allowed 21 home runs, including 14 at Coors Field.

Sanchez, 29, is 1-6 with a 7.76 ERA in 53 1 /3 innings, walking 44. Sanchez, designated for assignment by the Royals on Tuesday, was acquired from San Francisco in the offseason for all-star outfielder Melky Cabrera, considered the year’s most lopsided deal.

  4. Stang says:

I wonder if Sanchez updated his twitter account to the Colorado Rockies or is he still a SF Giant

  5. I’d say more upside with Guthrie…he was halfway respectable on the road.
