As anyone watched Rudy lately? Man I tell you what that movie can be a little bit of a tear jerkier if your a 6 pack deep. The movie came on the tube a few nights back and I was drinking a few Talls while watching it. Well I shit you not when Rudy got the sack at the end of the movie I was Dick Vermeiling all over my face. Anyway back to Notre Dame finding a home…
If this conference realignment is playing out like everyone thinks it will, then Notre Dame will have to join one of the football power conferences to have a better shot at the football playoff that begins in 2014.
-ACC will not nearly be making the money the Big 12, SEC, Big 10, and Pac 12 will be making so teams will probably be jumping ship to go search for a new conference so ND will not be going to the ACC.
-If ACC starts to crumble then people are predicting Miami, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame to join the Big 12. Big 12 would be one hell of a conference if that went down. They may actually be a bigger powerhouse then the SEC if they landed those teams.
-If that went down Mizzou would not be butthurt so lets not go down that road. Whats done is done. Being a Mizzou and ND fan yes I would have loved to see them battle it out but you can’t go through life worrying about the ifs and buts or I’d still be crying over the time I missed out on a reverse handjob from the homecoming queen.
-SEC and Big 12 being the dominant conferences with alliances towards one another is tittycity. Hopefully it would get some cross games going between the conferences.
-I wouldn’t count out the Big 10 in the ND sweepstakes. Big 10 has always wanted ND. Big 10 is a better academic conference then Big 12. Geography wise the Big 10 works better for ND. Also Big 10 may go after Georgia Tech to get into the Atlanta market. That would be a nice little package for ND and GA. Tech to both go to the Big 10.
What does everyone think? How will these conferences play out? Will the Irish find a new home?
Since ND has become nothing more than irrelvent as a football team over the last 20 years, they better hurry and join a conferecne before they go the way of Harvard Football.
Somewhere, an ND Professor is crying about your editing skills. Just kidding Dickcheeeeese…as an ND Fan, I’d rather have us join the B1G than ACC. Big XII would be amazing but don’t see it happening.
