You are correct about my comments about Cassel. I posted the comment right when I got home from the game so it was fueled by alcohol, disappointment and pure emotion. Cassel didn’t have a terrible game. But give me credit for calling this blowout. RAC did though and so did Pioli. This team has a shit load of work to do if they want to have a good defense and good special teams.

I hope we do better this week. However, I’m doubtful. I think it’s going to still be a 2 score game in Buffalo’s favor. We couldn’t even stop St. Louis’ offense (I know, I know it was preseason but they haven’t shown they have improved.)

I share your worries LERF…This whole fucking ship (Pioli, Crennel, Clark etc.) could sink this year if this defense (pass rush) doesn’t get their shit together. If this whole ship sinks, holy crap I will be in a living hell so I can not allow myself to think we are headed there.

Offense looks to be good to great as long as the defense can get the other team to turnover ball or at least punt.

Lin- Not only are you wrong about this team’s overall well being…you are unbelievably incorrect on Cassel…especially since you are saying his performance today ‘sucked’. It was also not long ago you and perhaps others noted McCluster shouldn’t be in the NFL or on the Chiefs. Of course you will admit you are wrong about that….but, Cassel played very well today. Looking at his final line of 2 TD/2 INT isn’t great, but he had excellent touch on the football, made really good reads, and this offense and Matt Cassel is the last thing you need to worry about. At this point, the biggest concern would be the pass rush in my opinion….

I hope I’m wrong about everything I say and think about this team. From top to bottom, i have zero trust in this organization. How is it that this is Pioli’s 4th year and this team is consistently weak in depth at most, if not all, positions? How? He’s suppossed to be God’s gift to the drafting room. Go back and look at his draft picks the last 4 years. All of our good players were drafted by King Carl (except for Eric Berry). Explain to me how he has the organization pointing upwards.

      • Coach says:

It is completely fair to have your own opinion on Pioli. I am arguing against that. I’m simply proposing that you calm down and recognize this season is 16 games…not one. No, it was not a good start and we did not look good in the preseason. But, we have a chance to go up to Buffalo and get back to .500. There is a lot of time left! Peyton Manning looked great, and if the Broncos allow him to go no huddle…they’ll be even better. But, I felt your comments about Cassel were very inaccurate. Nobody is claiming he’s a top 10 quarterback…but, he is definitely not a ‘bad’ starting quarterback. He’s an average NFL starter who can make all the throws needed to be successful. I am confident he can lead us to the promise land with good defense, special teams, and a positive turnover margin. Yes, it’s a lot to ask…and, I’d prefer to have Peyton Manning. But, it’s one week and this team was missing two very important starters versus a VERY good Atlanta team. Relax.

Told you…I was right. This team sucks and so does Cassel. Only 6 months or so til 2013 Royals start. I hate being a Chiefs fan.
