For the first time in a handful of weekends, I don’t look like this broad…

Let’s fire it up with the Chiefs.  Chiefs looked alright, Matt Cassel looked bad with a weak arm, Houston isn’t ready along with the rest of the defense including Romeo’s coaching, and McCluster looks like he could still be cut from this team any day.

Bwwwaaahhh, yeah right, as if, sorry the above information was what came out Kent Babb, Soren Petro, and other media members prior to this preseason.  The exact opposite happened on Friday night to what these media guys warned of or were predicting.  Matt Cassel looked sharp, McCluster looked solid in the slot position, running game was an awesome 1-2 punch with Hillis and JC, offensive line looked very solid creating running lanes and passing pockets, defense was swarming with Houston deflecting a pass and having a sack. Poe doesn’t look ready for the NFL which is no surprise since most defensive tackles take a while to get acclimated to the NFL. Either way that is fine because Chiefs have Toribio and Gordon holding down the fort until Poe is ready.

The dude that came out of no where for this Chiefs game is TE Steve Maneri.  The guy led the Chiefs in receiving yards for the first preseason game.  If anyone was worried about Moeaki going down, you can put those worries aside Stevieboy looks to be a guy that can take over the reigns if necessary.

All starters on both squads looked good.  I haven’t seen Chiefs nation this stoked over a Chiefs preseason game since back in the Vermeil era.  I’m just as stoked as everyone else, but will give a slight warning that this great performance came against a quarterbackless Arizona Cardinals team.  Actually fuck it, soak it up, Chiefs haven’t had a good preseason game to brag about in a long time.

SportingKC won a big game against DC United propelling them into 1st place in the Eastern Division.  It’s sooo choice having a winner in KC to cheer on!

Royals continue to play well when its meaningless baseball.  Royals tied the series against Orioles 2-2.  It’s amazing how the Royals will have good pitching and batting when it doesn’t really count.  It’s good this way so we can get geeked up for next year only to be shattered with shitty play again when it counts.

Rory Mcilroy looks poised to win the PGA Championship, we’ll follow up later…
