It Take’s Two???

Chalk this one up as another awe inspiring move by the Royal’s organization……we will have TWO hitting coaches next season.  Apparently this way we’ll only have to fire one as the year goes on.

Check out this article from the Kansas City Star for details but the important things to know are that both guys are from inside the minor league organization and have been credited with helping to develop the young cornerstone player’s currently on the roster into big league hitters.  I kind of like the premises and see where GMDM is coming from on this one but I’m not sure if it will work.  Gonna be interesting.  Overall though it feels like a small time move from a small time team.  Probably would have just stuck with Seitzer as opposed to pulling this stunt but I’ll keep my mouth shut and let player’s performances tell me if this was a good call or not.

Looks pretty lame to me…Seitz seems like a much better man for the job but unfortunately someone had to take the fall for last year’s woes…

    • I don’t think they were too upset with Seitzer in terms of job performance. He just had a philosophical difference about hitting than most do these days. He’s all about the gaps, opposite field and situational hitter (b/c that’s the type of hitter he was). In this day in age we need guys like Moose, Hos, Butler, Gordon and Cain hitting dingers. Not a bunch of doubles just to be left on base.
