Offense
-Kansas City offense is #1 in the NFL in total yards.
-Kansas City Chiefs are #3 in the NFL in time of possession.
-Matt Cassel is #13 in the NFL in passing yards.
-Dwayne Bowe is #18 in yards. Only 2 other guys have 2 TDs and more yards than Bowe. There are only 5 other guys in the entire NFL that have less yards but have 3/4 TDs then Bowe.
-Jamal Charles has the most rushing yards in the NFL.
Defense
-Very Surprisingly Chiefs are #16 in the NFL for yards allowed.
-Justin Houston is #4 in sacks.
Special Teams
-Succop is #5 in the NFL for field goals made.
For a team that is 1-2 and has been blown out of 2 games this isn’t too shabby. If the defense steps it up like they did in the 2nd half against New Orleans and the offense can maintain drives then this Chiefs team could soon be a force to be reckoned with…
I think the stat that hurts us the most in the first 3 games is that we are ranked dead last in the NFL in turnovers. -8.
If we correct this, we could be a contender in the AFC West

Good to have lots of nice stats but the one that matters the most we are in the bottom third of the league….TD’s. We’ve scored only 6 so far (as have 6 other teams). 4 teams have scored only 5.
That being said, this still shows the Chiefs can move the ball, which is a good thing. Just need to learn to execute at the end of drives and put more points on the board. Couple that with what appears to be a defense that has turned the corner and we could make some noise.
The last plus we have going for us is the weak division we play in. We can be in first place next week by taking care of business AT HOME vs. the Chargers.

Great article Cheeeeese. I think you make some great points. Some of those stats are quite surprising….This team is dangerous. If the defense can become dominant then this is a very dangerous football team.
Remember when Steve Spagnuolo and the Giants started the season with three of the worst defensive performances in the league? I believe the Giants went on to win the Superbowl that year…and, the defense finally found themselves and became arguably the best defense in the NFL. This Chiefs team can do that.

Pretty easy to rack up yards and offense in a second half when the game is over. See Buffalo and Atlanta. Houston is a stud. Cassel sucks so bad I can’t even stand it anymore. Good news is that DonkeyDicks are 1-2 as well
I concur on Buffalo but majority of the yards and stats for Hotlanta were put up in the first half.
