While all the radio sport shock jocks try to hype up the mob by talking about destroying Winstons, RACs, Piolis, and Hunts lives (they might deserve it for destroying our Chiefs lives) that lead to incidents like the Cassel cheer gate, I take a different road and stick to the football games ahead…
I know everyone wants the Chiefs to “Blow for Geno” but not this guy (even though it looks very appetizing). I never give up on a season until we are mathematically eliminated. We are not eliminated yet due to an awful division and being only a couple games out of a playoff spot in a .500 AFC. Last year I predicted Chiefs would come out of their 0-3 slump and take the division lead against Chargers on Monday night Halloween. They weren’t able to hang onto the division lead because of Palko, but the year ended up being a good time as a loyal Chiefs fan. Let’s take a look and see if the Chiefs can find a path to win the AFC West.
First off for any chance of this to happen the Chiefs will have to take care of business in Motherfuckin Tampaaaahhhh this Sunday. If this Chiefs defense and the running game have now turned the corner than the Chiefs should win even with my Irishloveboat behind center. I think Brady will play well enough to win games as Chiefs quarterback. Let’s hope Quinn is ready to bust on too the NFL season after sitting on the sidelines for a couple years.
After the Chiefs beat the Bucs and they must or the season is totally fucking over they will going into the bye week 2-4 and the division will still be in reach of winning. Below are my predictions of how things could play out and as long as Chiefs win majority of their games against lesser teams, win their division games, and lose only 2-3 games to finish 10-6 or 9-7 then they can make a playoff spot.
CHIEFS 1-4
@Tampa Bay 2-4
Oakland 3-4
@San Diego 4-4 (could be a lose but have to win)
@Pittsburgh 4-5
Cincinnati 5-5
Denver 6-5
@Carolina 6-6 (random loss that will piss off fans)
@Cleveland 7-6 (could be other upset but Chiefs will sneak it out)
@Oakland 8-6 (hope team is in disarray to win)
Indinapolis 9-6 (this will be hard one b/c Luck could have his feet wet)
@Denver 10-6 (to win the AFC West)
Fartgers 3-2 (Team with best shot to win West)
Denver 3-3 (toss up game)
@Cleveland 4-3
Kansas city 4-4
@Tampa Bay 5-4
@Denver 5-5 (toss up game)
Baltimore 5-6
Cincinnati 6-6 (toss up game)
@Pittsburgh 7-6
Carolina 8-6
@New York 8-7 (hoping upset)
Oakland 9-7
Donkeys 2-3
@San Diego 3-3 (toss up)
New Orleans 3-4 (glad Chiefs played them while Saints are down)
@Cincinnati 4-4 (toss up)
@Carolina 5-4
San diego 6-4 (toss up)
@Arrowhead 6-5 (toss up)
Tampa Bay 7-5
@Oakland 8-5
@Baltimore 8-6
Cleveland 9-6
Chiefs 9-7 (AFC West Championship)
Bloakland 1-3 (Oakland will most likely not be this bad)
@Atlanta 1-4
Jacksonville 2-4
@Arrowhead 2-5
Tampa Bay 3-5
@baltimore 3-6
New Orleans 4-6 (upset)
@Cincinnati 4-7

Chiefs 5-9
@Carolina 6-9
@San Diego 5-12 6-10

I hope I don’t sound too much like Coach when I say this, but I told all of you this was going to happen and the Chiefs would end up being 2-14. Then I was told I was being a pessimist.
Here’s my modo when it comes to KC/Mizzou sports:
“It’s best to always think negatively. If you think negatively, you can never be heart-broken or let down and being wrong is a good thing.”
Even if we do go 2-14, does anyone trust Pioli to make a good pick? I sure the fuck don’t. $20 says he trades down if we get the 1 or 2 pick. Any takers?
And I don’t care if “the Chiefs outplayed the Ravens.” The goal is to win the game, not outplay someone. RAC is a joke. He can’t manage a game…period and he has no testicles. Cassel can’t make NFL QB quality throws. Dan Fouts said he struggled with the easy throws. Not only do I believe Dan Fouts over Coach…sorry Coach, but I’ve seen Cassel fail at making easy throws with my own ‘untrained’ ans ‘zero-experienced’ eyes.
Can’t wait for Spring Training.
Fouts is bias and hates Chiefs since we kicked his ass back in the day. Everything that went against Chiefs, Fouts agreed and was happy…Fouts blows Rivers
LERF-
You are right, the goal is to win the game. There is absolutely no denying that. This business comes down to wins and losses. I do not believe Matt Cassel is a starting NFL quarterback right now. I think he struggles to make the throws needed to be successful at this level. I do support him, and do believe the Chiefs CAN win with him at quarterback. But, I do not believe he gives you as good a chance as many other quarterbacks (and all other starters in the NFL). For example, I would much rather have Flynn (the Seahawks backup) then Cassel. In knowing all of this, it’s clearly a major issue.
Rome Crennel is not a joke. Romeo is a very good football coach. Romeo has not done well as a Head Coach…and, he will eventually lose his job if he doesn’t get it turned around. But, he is far from a joke. He is extremely intelligent and a very good Defensive football coach. At this point and time, it’s fair to say he’s failed as head coach. But, there is a long ways to go.
I agree with Fouts that Cassel struggles to make the throws…even the easy throws. There is far too much inconsistency and that’s completely unacceptable at the NFL level. The scary part is that I think Cassel has decent footwork…and, still doesn’t make the throws. It’s a lack of arm strength and accuracy for the most part.
This is a garbage team and we are lucky we beat a horrible Saints team. We should be 0-5 and deserve to be 0-5. We completely outplayed BAL? I’ve never seen a team turn the ball over FOUR TIMES and completely outplay the other team. Oh, we had 40 more yards of offense than them? Wow, I didn’t realize we completely outplayed them. You’ll probably say we were better in the run of play and that if we didn’t turn it over 4 times, we would have won. But we did turn it over four times, and we did put a horrible fucking QB out there, and we did run a pathetic offense, and we did insult our fans once again. So why the fuck are we still coming up with pipe dream scenarios?
Why anyone here would want anything but 1-15 would baffle me. Whatever it takes for Scott Pioli to be fired, that should be the goal of the season.
We are all fucked and stuck with that beady eyed Clark Hunt, nothing we can hope for there, but we can hope that we get embarrassed so badly, that he has to fire Pioli. Then we can hope a better GM comes in here and is so good that he can overcome a horrible owner and win some games.
Diet Pepsi- Please explain what a ‘pathetic offense’ is…? I do agree with your point about turnovers. Hell, that alone could make an offense ‘pathetic’. After all, that is the single most important statistic in football (as it pertains to Wins and Losses). So, I regret using the word ‘completely’. And, yes..I did mean the fact that we showed the ability to physically dominate the Ravens defensive front 7 and even 8 at times. That is extremely rare. That alone proves this team has the ability to run the football on a lot of defenses…which is a key factor to winning. Now, if you don’t have a QB to take advantage of a loaded box then in the long run, it’s all for not.
And, I agree Matt Cassel is not a starting quarterback. But, I’m most interested in your explanation of a ‘pathetic offense’. What exactly do you feel makes it a ‘pathetic offense’? Please explain more so than simply saying ‘we don’t take care of the football, or score more than 6 points.’ Granted, they are second to last in QB rating, but I think you need to propose specific examples of what you mean by ‘pathetic’ as the Chiefs offense does do a couple things excellent…such as accumulating yards (This would suggest to me that the only basis for ‘pathetic’ would be our poor QB rating and turnover ration):
4th/32: Total Yards
2nd/32 in Rushing Yards.
Can’t see this happening but I’m good with it. Either way it makes Pioli look like a complete dumbshit. Lose out – he’s an idiot for assembling a terrible team. Circle the wagons – he’s an idiot for assuming the QB job to Cassel in the first place (assuming Cassel is done for a long time).
You were cynical when Pioli arrived and I believed he would take us to the promise land…looks like I should have been drinking your Vodkaooolaid
Awesome post Cheeeeeeeeese. This is what the mothership needs more of. There isn’t a soul in Kansas City (unless you live under a rock) who believes the Chiefs are a ‘good’ football team right now. They simply haven’t proven to be. But, here is a fact: They completely outplayed the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and found a way to lose. This is concerning…yet, it’s also encouraging. This team can win football games…and, needs to reach deep within to find the courage, attitude, and perseverance to respond. I’ll tell you one thing: I don’t care who the QB is, if you can run the football like that, and play great defense (like they did)…then you are dangerous.
Cheeeeeeese, the Raiders only play 16 games..meaning 5-12 is impossible
oops…good looking out Coach…I’ll change it
Man that is an awesome scenario. Only problem is you have the worst team in the division winning the most games over the final 11 of the year
The good news for the Chiefs is that our schedule lightens up big time from hear on out. They are going to need to sweep the remaining games in the division (5 wins), beat TB/CIN/CAR/IND (4 wins) and we would have a shot.
History is not on our side. Only 11 teams since 1990 have been 1-4 and gone on to make the playoffs. Gonna need a miraculous turn around.
Is this a joke KCCM!?!?
You just gave your Royals optimism to the Chiefs. Good work on breaking it down even further. Hope it works…hahaha
No Joke. I have no room for Royals optimism until 2013 Spring Training starts (unless we sign some bad ass starting pitchers) so all my love is for the CHIEFS right now.
Why throw in the towel when there is still 70% of a season left to play? I agree with Coach that a team who can run the ball like we have been and play dominant defense still has a shot. It’s really too bad we aren’t 2-3 b/c everyone in this city would be talking about us winning the division instead of being in kill mode.
That being said…..all the AFC West games are coin flips. The 5 against TB/CLE/IND/CAR/CIN are all teams we can beat. I realalisticaly see something like 8-8 as our best possible outcome. That would be 7-4 the rest of the way. Who knows – that could possibly win this weak division if the cards all fall right.
Tebow to KC!!!!!!
Did Quinn back up Tebow at one point?
