According to Powermizzou.com and KOMU, Mizzou starting QB is out of tomorrow’s game and Corbin “Parked Car” Berkstresser is in. As of right now, they are saying he re-injured his shoulder. This could be baaaaaad news for the Tigers.
I will follow this story and update this post if I hear of anything new.
Saturday September 15th, 2012 9:43 am: Update: James Franklin is questionable and will be a game-time decision. The University of Missouri isn’t saying anything about the injury or whether Franklin or Berkstresser will play.If I had to guess, I would say Berkstresser will play. If I had to choose I would want Berkstresser to play. This could be a little game Mizzou is playing with ASU and trying to keep them guessing (which I doubt because…as Homie the Clown always said….Pinkel don’t play that.). If Franklin is hurt, he should sit. Is a hurt Franklin still better than a healthy Berkstresser? I don’t know because Berkstresser has never played, but I would say the answer to that question is no. Berkstresser looked good during the spring and showed a lot of zip on the ball. He also showed a little bit of scrambling ability which is surprising considering his size. Berkstresser can easily throw the deep ball and we have a 6’6 WR who runs a 4.3 so Berkstresser could be a better option to get Baby Megatron going (For you KU fans that don’t pay attention to Mizzou sports anymore, I’m talking about DGB. If you don’t know who he is, which wouldn’t surprise me because you don’t like football, look him up on Google.). There’s no doubting Franklin’s play making ability and his leadership skills, but his injured shoulder is his throwing arm and we will need him against the rest of the SEC. Pinkel, sit him. He could be our backup if Berkstresser can’t get it done.
Berkstresser or Franklin, you have to assume Mizzou will be ground heavy today. Personally, I’m kind of excited to see Berkstresser play. He’s a true son of Missouri and has a really good arm. I’m a huge Franklin fan, but you Mizzou fans remember how Gabbert played with a sprained ankle. If you are injured and can’t help your team, sit down and let someone else do it. We shall see. I will update this if I hear anything (which means if it pops up on the Internet. I’m not like Kietzman where I consider a little voice inside my head an unnamed source.)

Told you he couldn’t handle getting hit around that much…..if this actually comes to fruition. Yes, Bud Kilmer would have him ready to go without question..
If our O Line doesn’t get their heads out of their asses, Clowney is going to single-handedly dominate us. I thought Berkstresser played well, considering he had zero time to throw and go through his reads.
I guess the only silver lining is guys like Boehm are getting valuable playing time.
We need Bud Kilmer to jam that needle into his elbow and lets play some ball.
