BREAKING NEWS: Ervin Santana to the Royals?

Ervin Santana is rumoured to be on his way to Kansas City through a trade with the LA Angels. Fantastic move by the Royals if it’s true. If I were Santana, I would be furious right now and hoping it’s false. More details to follow…

Good move if we plan on adding another front line starter and have santana as our number 3.

I’ve heard guthrie wants 3 years on a new deal. Can’t see us giving him that. I’d like to go after dan haren and I’ve heard Rick porcello’s name thrown around. If we try to grab
Either of those guys, i doubt we’ll keep guthrie around.

I see the rotation looking like this.

        FREE AGENT SIGNEE OR TRADE
        Santana
        Chen
        Odirrizi
        Mendoza

They HAVE TO go out and get someone else. This is not enough. Even if it’s McCarthy from the A’s. I’d say Volstad is in Omaha or maybe they send Odirrizi back down, who knows. I don’t see Guthrie in a Royals uni next year and I think I’m okay with that. Guthrie is no spring chicken and if you give that guy a 3 year contract, he may not give a shit and suck again. There is also a possibility that they bring back Soria and make him into a starter. I’d like to see them try, but he could be done too.

Talking about the Royals in November is never good. It means the Chiefs suck…
