The KC media is going to milk Dwayne Bowe’s franchise tag, drama tit as much as they can…
Right now multiple KC media members are saying it is likely D-Bowe will not be playing for the KC Chiefs at the beginning of the season. In my mind there is no way in hell this going to happen unless D-Bowe really is that stupid inlcuding his agent.
I will gladly purchase a D-Bowe jersey and sport it to every Chiefs game/event for the entire year if D-Bowe has not signed his franchise tag and is not playing for the Chiefs by game 1. But no way in hell do I see that happening.
Dwayne Bowe will be making 9.5 million this year by signing the Chiefs franchise tag. That is the same amount of money Bowe made in his first 5 year contract with Chiefs. Judging from Bowe’s character over the years I doubt Bowe has been saving all his paychecks in a 401K account but instead has been spending his scrilla on g-strings in Miami night clubs. The guy is going to need the money.
Chiefs are making the right move here by not offering him a long term contract. Bowe will have to PLAY and play well to show other teams he deserves a long term contract. If Bowe does play well, Chiefs can franchise him again. If they do that it is a smart play by Chiefs and great for both parties. That means Bowe will be one the highest NFL wide receivers by making 20 million in 2 years. If Chiefs don’t want to franchise him then Bowe can go get his long term deal done with another team. (On a sidenote take a look at some of the names that have signed with the Chiefs in the last 2 years. Showing Chiefs get contracts completed with solid football guys…Charles, Flowers, Boss, Hillis, Winston, McClain, Gaither, Hali, etc.
I know this is two different positions and there is a different market for RBs and WRs but Jamaal Charles signed a five year contract for 32 million with 13 million guaranteed. In my opinion Charles is more of a factor in Chiefs game plans then Bowe. This means Bowe will be making almost all of Charles guaranteed money in 1 year and crush it in 2 years. Bowe will be a top paid wide receiver this year in the NFL under the franchise tag.
Patriots slapped the franchise tag on Wes Welker and he has an impeccable reputation. Welker takes it as a compliment and plans to play. Bowe should see it the same way.
Lets just stop with the bolshit drama. Bowe can’t afford to miss games. Bowe will be making excellent money so don’t cry for me fucking Argentina, just shut up and go play so you can control your own destiny while continuing to make buttloads of money. Chiefs played the right hand with a great flaky wide receiver, lets hope it plays out for Chiefsssss!
Big difference between Welker and Bowe. Welker knows he ain’t jack shit without Brady and that offensive system. Welker is a big part of that offense, but he’s completely replacable and not worth a ton of money.
Bowe on the other hand knows the Chiefs need him big time this year, but knows he’s not gonna be here past 2012. But from first hand knowledge – he’s a complete dumbass and needs his game checks. He will play.
We have a future Raider on our hands here boys. Bowe is a monkey and will get exactly what he deserves, shipped out to Oakland for draft picks (oh wait, Oakland already gave up all of their draft picks for Carson Palmer). My guess is that DBowe doesn’t want to get back into the huddle with No Passel Cassel for another year.
