Probably old news but still an amazing stat…Our Chiefs are the only team in the NFL without a >30 Player. Give Pioli some credit…the Chiefs have a talented and deep roster full of youngins. Drinking the Koolaid this preseason…just praying that we can stay healthy.
We have to be the only team in the NFL at 30 and younger right? It seems like Derrick Johnson has been with the Chiefs for like 10 years or something.
I think we’ll know if this team is legit if they continue their performance in the off-season. In the Haley era there was not an emphasis on winning in the pre-season. I think this attributed to our terrible offense at the start of each year. The only exception when Weis was OC.
Haley was always to worried about where the next swinger party was during preseason.
The only thing I still want to see from the offense is the ability to throw the deep ball. We have a great line and back feild, but we have to have a deep threat to keep teams from stacking 8 in the box. Everything else, especially our Defense, looked awesome Friday. I’m rockin a hard on thinking about opening day!
Getting Bowe back will definitely help the deep ball. Baldwin will also help the deep ball. Defenses will not be able to stack 8 in the box if you have McCluster, Moeaki, or Breaston breaking off the line where safeties have to respect them and can’t cheat. Dabol also can’t do Hermy ball, run/run/pass. He’ll have to keep them on their toes by going deep on first down every now and then.
I’m normally pretty glass is half empty with the Chiefs. Definitely not as optimistic as I am with the Royals (and some think I’m a Royals hater). However, that first half on Friday was really something.
