#11 KSU to face #3 KU in Sunflower Showdown
Kansas State’s Rodney McGruder averaged 20.5 points in two victories last week. It marked the fourth time this season he’s won the Big 12’s weekly player award. Only Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin in 2009 (six times) and Texas Tech’s Andre Emmett in 2004 (five) won the weekly award more times in a season. At 15-2 and 4-0 in conference play Kansas State looks to crack the top 10 and become the front runner for what would be it’s first ever Big 12 Championship. The only problem is that they have to beat #3 KU to do so… Best believe Manhappiness will be bumpin Tuesday night for the first home game since the student body has returned from winter break… EFECKINGMAW… GRUDER!!!!

Tangible Signs of Dominance. Fewer and fewer are those who remember Kansas State Football being anything other than a force to be rekoned with. An entire generation of kids know nothing other than Kansas State being one of the top 10 programs in the country. This is how you build a program the honest way… Too bad Zimmerman was injured or else the Baylor game may have turned out differntly and we could have seen an ND KSU championship game… I have a feeling we will be in the hunt again next year. The ship has many more K-State and Notre Dame Fans than Bama & Oregon fans, so let’s get this straight so everyone knows who to root for this weekend:

There is only one school in the nation that has lost 500 games,” says Bill Snyder, Kansas State’s new football coach. “This is it, and I get to coach it. “Snyder smiles. Sort of. He is the fourth coach in five years to be given the opportunity, the previous three having been bloodied beyond recognition. Since World War II not one of K-State’s 11 coaches has gone on to a better coaching job. “This has been a real career stopper,” says the school’s athletic director, Steve Miller.
Last November, when Miller hired Snyder away from Iowa, where he was the offensive coordinator, Miller told him, “Kansas State is flat on its back. You may have heard it’s one of the toughest jobs in the country. It’s not. It’s the toughest.” …….. Read more

Kansas State Jumps to #5
It’s not everyday that beating KU will jump you two spots in the top 10, but with 3 of the top 5 teams in football losing Saturday the stage was set. Kats weathered a first half charge from KU and went into halftime only up a touchdown after letting the clock expire on KU’s 1 yard line. This wasn’t very Bill Snyder-esque, but the team came out in the second half and outscored Kansas 35-2. Chock up another sunflower showdown assp whooping for the farm boys behind running back John Hubert’s 4 touchdowns… KState did well not to lose focus in this “trap” game and were rewarded in the polls.
KSU moves to #5 in the nation, yes yes, not just california. (#Lebowski). HOWEVER! West Virginia was able to overcome Texas and subsequently jumped the cats in the polls to #4. Kansas State needs to come home clean after a visit to Iowa State on Saturday and then we are going to have a HUGE matchup the following week at West Virginia with what is shaping up to be a shootout between the #4 & #5 teams in the nation! Hold on to your seats Manhattan, this is season is getting good. DON’T LOOK PAST IOWA STATE.
